Panini maker recipes are those recipes that end up best when the person making panini uses a panini maker. Of course you never really have to use a panini maker to make panini; but many of these lovely dishes are at their easiest – and best – when a panini maker is used to cook them. Here are some examples.
A favorite panini of ours is one that incorporates Swiss cheese, Parmesan cheese, smoked ham, and garden-fresh basil leaves. Preheat your panini maker and grease it up a little bit with nonstick cooking spray or olive oil. Mix a little mayonnaise and some grated Parmesan cheese in a bowl until well blended. Prepare halves of your desired sort of bread, such as ciabatta, sourdough or whole-wheat. Spread the bottom half with the Parmesan-mayo mixture. Top this mixture with slices of smoked ham, the Swiss cheese, and your basil leaves, and seal the panini with the top halves of bread. You may choose to slather the outsides of the panini with a little butter if you like. When done, grill the panini in your panini maker until the bread is toasted to your liking and the cheese is melted. Serve and enjoy!
Another good example of panini maker recipes that we love is a simple Italian grilled cheese panini that bears some resemblance to the equally famous Monte Cristo sandwich. Preheat your panini maker and, once again, grease it with olive oil or nonstick cooking spray. Select your bread, and choose which half, or halves, are to become the bottom half or halves. Spread the bottom halves with a little pesto for added flavor. Thinly slice Mozzarella and Provolone cheeses; slice a ripe tomato (heirloom or beefsteak) thinly. In a medium-deep bowl, beat two eggs gently just until mixed; add half a cup of whole milk and a little black pepper and salt. Prepare another plate of flour. Dip the prepared panini first into the egg mixture and then into the flour mixture. Grill in the hot panini maker until nicely browned and the cheese is melted.
The advantage conferred by panini makers – which is why some panini maker recipes specifically call for panini to be cooked in panini makers – is that they save a great deal of time and effort by allowing both sides of panini cooked in them to be cooked at once. By cooking your panini in a panini maker, you save yourself a little more time when preparing these deliciously simple dishes – time you can spend enjoying them!

If it’s a cheese panini recipe you are after, especially if you are a cheese person, you’re in luck! There are literally hundreds of varieties of cheese available today. Many of these do wonderfully in panini, whether they’re mixed with other ingredients like chicken or turkey – or combined with other sorts of cheese. Here are a few recipes you can try and enjoy if you love cheese panini.
Here’s a lovely simple recipe that combines two kinds of cheese – delightfully sharp Cheddar and buttery, sweet Havarti – with a few other ingredients to make this an easy but really tasty panini. Preheat your grill (preferably a double-sided grill) and butter it lightly, spread it lightly with olive oil, or spray it with nonstick cooking spray. Take eight slices of whole wheat, sourdough, or ciabatta bread and spread four of them with mustard. Shred your Cheddar and Havarti cheese and sprinkle the mustard-topped bread slices with equal portions of both. Slice a ripe beefsteak or heirloom tomato and place a slice atop each cheese-heaped bread slice. When done, place the remaining four slices of bread atop. If you wish, you can butter your panini lightly. When the grill is hot, place each panini carefully in it and, if you’re using a double-sided grill, swing the other side down on the panini. Grill the panini until nice and golden-brown and the cheese is melted. (Make sure to turn the panini over if you aren’t using a double-sided grill.)
Another great cheese panini recipe is one that incorporates chicken breast and cheddar cheese. Get a medium-sized ciabatta loaf; slice it in half lengthwise, and then slice each half into four slices. Spread four of these portions of bread with approximately 5 tablespoons of mayonnaise. Next, get four slices of pre-cooked chicken breast and place them on top of the bread slices that have been spread with mayonnaise. Then grate about a cup and a half of cheddar cheese and sprinkle this on top of the chicken breast slices. If desired, top these chicken breast slices with thin slices of tomatoes and greens such as lettuce or young spinach leaves. Finally, close your panini by placing the four bread slices on top of these slices. Heat your double-sided grill and brush with a little olive oil or melted butter. Place your panini inside and press down. Grill until the bread is golden and the cheese has melted nicely.
Lastly, feel free to substitute other sorts of cheese for the ones we’ve used in these recipes – the more exotic the better! Don’t be afraid to experiment and find new combinations.
What is “Panini”?

The trend of making sumptuous and easy to create sandwiches has really gone a long way especially with the creation of the Panini. Though a lot of people already had their share of this sandwich, there are still some that do not actually know just what a Panini really is.
So what is a panini? Basically, a panini is a grilled sandwich filled with cheese or cured meats. Like any other sandwich, the panini is considered a working class sandwich that one can conveniently have anytime, anywhere. Contrary to what most people believe, there is actually no general rule whether panini is cooked, or let alone grilled, although they are popularly known and served grilled. Today, we see quite a lot of expensive cheese filled sandwiches, grilled hot and very flavourful, thinking that they are done from top of the line grills. However, did you know that you can actually create sumptuous panini sandwiches right at your very own grill?
The secret towards having a perfect panini sandwich does not only revolve around having a state of the art grill. The secret is in the bread and the ingredients. Preferably, you need to have the best! Ideally, Ciabatta and Foccacia breads are great for making panini sandwiches. You can also use bread that is rich in herbs, or any other types of bread that are flavourful, heavy, and dense enough to hold together and grill evenly.
Another consideration is the meat. Commonly, panini sandwiches are made with varied cured meats such as prosciutto, pepperoni, or salami. Go for those that are thinly sliced so you don’t have to fully cook the meat on the grill.
When it comes to making great sandwiches that are easy to create and yummy to the palate, panini sandwiches are definitely it.

Making panini is not as difficult as one may think. Panini refers to grilled sandwiches made in a sandwich grill press or grilling pan with all different fillings and your choice of Italian bread to make a mouth-watering treat.
Having simple, easy panini just consists of two slices of Ciabatta or Foccacia bread stuffed with salami, pepperoni, or prosciutto, mozzarella and other preferred cheese, tomatoes, fresh basil, roasted red peppers, and anything that your heart desires. Brush the sandwich with extra virgin olive oil then put it in a panini grill or press.
There are other methods and styles of making easy panini and some can be done even in just 3 minutes. You can make a pizza panini with Italian bread slices, your choice of pizza or pasta sauce, mozzarella cheese, pepperoni or salami, green olives, green pepper and other preferred toppings. Just assemble the preferred ingredients and put it in a grill pan for about 3 to 4 minutes and you have a tasty pizza panini
Make a turkey club sandwich panini with sliced turkey, bacon (pre-cooked), tomatoes, mayonnaise, Swiss cheese, olive oil, and your choice of bread. Brush the bread with olive oil and put the ingredients together. Cook the panini until it is crisp on the outside and the cheese has already melted.
Grilled ham panini can be done with 2 slices of sour dough bread, mayonnaise, smoked ham or brown sugar ham, tomatoes, and preferred cheese. Just spread your bread slices with mayo and put the ham, tomatoes and cheese inside. Then grill it until it is lightly brown.
Creating panini can be really easy and fun. All you have to do is take a look inside your refrigerator and you might find your own panini creation.

Everybody loves pizza. The same thing holds true for panini sandwiches. But have you ever heard of pizza panini? You got it right! Pizza panini are actually a smaller version of a pizza. So how do you make a pizza panini?
Start by taking a loaf of French bread cut into four equal pieces. You can also use four small Italian rolls instead. Once prepared, evenly spread pizza sauce on the surface. Shred mozzarella cheese on top, or any type of cheese you desire.
Chop broccoli (frozen or fresh), mushrooms, and red peppers. Add the toppings to the bread, along with a generous amount of sliced pepperoni. Top it with about four tablespoons of finely grated parmesan cheese. Coat the outside of the bread with olive oil before grilling.
Place your prepared sandwiches on your grill pan or panini press. Once you notice the cheese melting, remove the baked pizza and set it aside to slightly cool. Slice diagonally and serve with some slices of red or yellow peppers.
If you do not have grill pan or press, you can still make a pizza panini on a non stick pan. Just make sure you cook it over medium high heat. For the sandwich to flatten, a smaller skillet can be used to press it down. After about two minutes or once the lower side is already down, carefully flip the sandwich and cook for another minute or two.
You don’t have to be an expert or a chef to create pizza panini, nor do you need those expensive and state of the art panini grills. Simply learn the basics; that way, you won’t have to order your favourite pizza at your local pizza shops.

One new hot item that is making a lot of commotion in the kitchen is the panini grill that makes great panini grill sandwiches. The grill is similar to the ones you use to make a waffle but the panini grill creates thin-toasted sandwiches that have a distinctive crispy flavor.
Italians usually prefer their panini grill sandwich with two slices of bread, a slice of prosciutto, thin slices of mozzarella and tomato, and fresh basil leaves. Then they brush the sandwich with olive oil and put it on a hinged grill. Since the cover of the panini grill is heavy, it presses the panino while creating a crispy sandwich.
You can make your own panini sandwich with a few basic tips and ideas.
If you want a panini for a light breakfast, try using a sweet bread and add cinnamon, honey, and butter. You can also use cream cheese and strawberry jam for a great panini treat. Don’t be afraid to use chicken and eggs in your panino for extra protein and nutrients to start your day.
For those vegetarian who wants to try panini, add thin slices of mozzarella and tomatoes with basil to ciabatta bread. Spread some olive oil and vinegar over the ingrediens. You can also try lightly grilling some veggies of your preference such as red pepper, onions, and mushrooms and adding them to your panino. Spread the outside with olive oil before grilling for extra flavor and crispiness.
You can also add salt and pepper to any panino even if the recipe doesn’t call for it. With panini, there are no rules. Be creative and have fun, that’s what panini are all about. For Italians, food and family are the most important things in the world so they always combine the two. This is one of the reasons that panini have become so popular in our society. We are so busy and it’s hard to find family time and just as hard to eat healthy. Making Panini can be a family affair; everyone can create their own concoctions. The best part is that the whole family is making supper together and eating together.
Panini possibilities are endless. You can add virtually anything to any bread including meat, chicken, fish, ham, turkey, eggs, cheese, etc… Of course, adding fruits and vegetables is a great way to get your kids to start getting their fill. Panini are also a great way to eat leftovers!

Panini, the popular grilled Italian sandwiches with their characteristic ridges, come in a number of varieties to suit the taste and style of panini lovers worldwide. There are some for meat lovers, cheese lovers and vegetable lovers. There are chicken, turkey and tuna panini. Most of them have been prepared in restaurants however, more and more people are now enjoying homemade panini. One type of panino that is easy to prepare and makes a sumptuous treat for breakfast or snack is a waffle panino.
Waffle panini suit people on the go and those on a limited budget because they require few ingredients. All you need are waffles, scrambled eggs, cheese, fried bacon, syrup and butter. Thaw the waffles first if they are frozen. When you have assembled all the necessary ingredients, put them together just like you would a sandwich: on one waffle put the scrambled eggs, fried bacon and cheese in no particular order. Place another waffle on top. Put your waffle sandwich in a panini press and heat until golden brown or until the cheese is melted (usually around 3-5 minutes). In case you don’t have a panini press, you can use a griddle pan instead. When the cheese has melted and the waffles have turned golden brown, voila! You have sumptuous, scrumptious waffle panini to go. Put them on a platter and eat them on their own or dipped in warm syrup. You can also spread some butter to taste.
The waffle panini we’ve just prepared are one of the simplest to prepare. By all means you can experiment with the fillings; the only limit is your imagination, taste preference and dietary requirements. Instead of bacon, you can use turkey, roast beef, chicken, ham or any kind of Italian meat, such as thin slices of prosciutto and salami. You can also put in any type of cheese, the more common ones are mozzarella, provolone or any variety of American cheese. You can even through in your favorite vegetables, such as tomatoes, spinach and olives. Just make sure that when making any panini, you thoroughly cook any raw meats or poultry prior to grilling your panini. What a panini press does is to heat your food and is not intended to cook it all throughout. In the case of waffle panini, the 3 – 5 minutes heating time is insufficient to really cook anything, so use pre-cooked fillings.
Why Hot Panini Sandwiches are Healthy Food-to-Go

Referred to as Panino or Panini in Italy, these delightful Italian sandwiches have become so familiar in several households and restaurants all over the globe. Normally, a hot Panino is made out of sliced meat, cheese, spices, herbs, vegetables, and, most importantly, the bread loaf sliced in half. Panini sandwiches are grilled using a special Panini press designed to cook these kinds of sandwiches. Although you can make use of the frying pan to grill the sandwich, panini press makes the grilling easier and less messy, and cooks the sandwich way better than an ordinary pan.
Panini sandwiches are said to be fattening by some people, however, this is not always true to all Panini. Panini tastes and flavors may change according to your preferences in ingredients. Let’s just say, you don’t worry about calories and fat in your daily diet. Then Panini ordered from restaurants are most likely the way to go. Panini sandwiches from restaurants are undeniably stuffed with ingredients that are truly heavy for the stomach unless, that is, these restaurants have prepared much healthier Panini for customers looking to lose weight.
However, if you prefer your own style of a hot Panini, then you can take some alternatives and not worry about the fattening components. When I say alternatives, I mean making way for a variety of more nutritious choices or preferences for the ingredients. These alternatives are endless actually and are not bound by any rule.
So to give you a hand in making your personalized hot Panini, find below useful guides for your food preparation and cooking:
• Bread choices vary from white bread, to focaccia, and to ciabatta – turned crunchy to enjoy most. Whole-grain bread is the best choice if you want to maintain your figure.
• Fillings could be freshly sliced or leftover hams, turkey, tuna, chicken, bacon and egg, ; sliced provolone, butter, or mozzarella cheese; sliced tomatoes, mushrooms, or onions; lettuce, basil leaves, red pepper; light mayonnaise or no spread at all; cranberry juice; pesto and olive oil. Pick what you think best suits you, your diet and your taste. For instance, instead of using the regular oil, opt for low-fat oil. Pick leaner portions of the meat, too.
• Remember what I said – no rules on your Panini. So a vegetarian-based Panini is also possible and healthy for people trimming down some pounds. Put in more fresh vegetables, rather than filling it up with bigger portions of meat.
You won’t run out of ideas when making your very own special hot Panini. Just find the best food choices for a low-calorie and low-fat sandwich. The only rule, however, if I may say, that should be followed is to make use of a Panini press or grill. As I mentioned earlier, a Panini grill is much better than a frying pan, but much like your waffle iron that applies heat on top and bottom to cook your sandwich evenly. Making hot Panini sandwiches through a Panini press may take you 3 to 5 minutes, depending on your preference. Nevertheless, hot Panini sandwiches have always been one of the easiest foods to prepare, yet remaining healthy for your starving tummy.
